Pink Ground Cover

We've had sun, rain and wind on repeat. I thought it was snowing. No, it's just the pink plum blossoms coming down. I don't mind the variety in our spring weather.

Home all the Time

You would think that I would have lots of extra time. I don't have anywhere to go. Yet it is a challenge to get my Bible Study Fellowship lesson completed each week. I am trying to find a new rhythm.

Harbor Virtual Meetup

We like to hang out after church and visit. Now that we are meeting in our individual homes, we can't do that. But today we had a virtual meetup after the online church service. It was great to see many faces of friends and our pastors from Harbor Church. Works for us!

Reporting from Home

My spring reports will be limited to my yard this year. We are staying home. It's the right thing to do in this season of illness.

Adventures in Baking

I'm glad I can capture moments quickly with my phone. I don't think I could recreate that moment of dropping two eggs and catching one on the dishwasher.

4 Year Doodle Love

We can't imagine our lives without our big white fluffy Daisy! She's been sweet from the start.

Happy 4th birthday (yesterday) to our favorite labradoodle!

And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25 ESV

Virtual Discussion Love

I am proud of my ladies in our Bible Study Fellowship group. Eight of them, nine if you include me, overcame fears and doubts to learn a new technology. We had a virtual discussion on the current lesson in Acts 21-23, shared what is going on right now, and prayed together. With plenty of laughs too.

Pictured: Seems like forever ago we met in person.

Learning how to Zoom

I downloaded the Zoom app and am learning how to use it. Little by little. It's a great way to connect with people remotely.

I was able to join 50 Bible Study Fellowship leaders from the Olympia class yesterday. Next up, schedule an online meeting with the ladies in our discussion group. We're all in this together.

Work from Home Love

Do you call this Take Your Dog to Work day? Or Bring Your Human Home day? We're just glad we can all be safe together.

God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6 ESV

Living Room Church

Our Sunday routine is sure different. I am thankful for the technology to bring church into our living room.  We can see Harbor Church Olympia online at 10 AM. Good to continue in the Galatians sermon series.

Fresh Air Therapy

We are enjoying the sunny days while they last. It's great to get some fresh air.

Plant Therapy Love

This is the perfect time for the "One of These Days" list. I've been wanting to repot some of my indoor plants and give them some attention. Bonus, it was nice to take them outside to work alongside my daughter.

Life and Laundry Goes On

Life goes on even if we are stuck at home social distancing. Which means there will be laundry and dishes. Good thing I don't mind either. I've had my share of time off my feet with my Multiple Sclerosis and last year with my ankle surgery. And then trouble with my intramuscular injection.

My tip for kitchen laundry is to have a dedicated spot for the dirty towels. I drape the wet cloths on the side to dry out before I throw it in the washing machine. Works for me!

Don't be Surprised

Our daily devotional through the book of Proverbs had some timely words yesterday. Why are we surprised by hard times and suffering? We can lean in to God's comfort.

God's Wisdom for Navigating Life by Timothy and Kathy Keller

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 1 Peter 4:12 ESV

As Best We Can

We are doing our part to keep our distance from people. As best we can. This will be a good time to write more letters and make more phone calls.

Get Out of the House

Sometimes you just need to get out of the house. Drive around a little. Enjoy the view of trees and snow covered mountains in the distance. Works for us and our pup.

Pictured: Daisy was wondering where we were going since we didn't go to the groomers.

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8 ESV

Harbor Church Online

If we can't go to church today, we can watch it online. Glad the technology worked smoothly. We watched Pastor Seth Winterhalter continue his sermon series in the book of Galatians. Check it out online anytime and on Sundays at 10 AM.

You can also search Youtube for Harbor Olympia.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ESV

Close to Home

We are staying close to home for now. Taking it one day at a time. Like everyone else, I'm sure.

Pictured: Even more blossoms in our front yard.

Stop and Smile

We interrupt the constant news updates with an old memory. I found this photo when I was looking for something in my office. Made me stop and smile. And remember how much I love my family.

Blue Skies, Calm Water

Another ferry ride for my husband today. The water is calm. We are staying calm, but definitely concerned about this health crisis.

Leave More Space

I'm glad many of my Bible Study Fellowship ladies opted to stay home today. It is good to take a cautious and sensible approach to the health crisis. And I'm thankful we have lectures and notes available online.

Pictured: I set up the chairs with more space between them and we only needed half of them.

Paying More Attention

This current virus health crisis has us all concerned and worried. I'm paying more attention to where I go and who I am in contact with. I'm glad my car is stocked with hand sanitizer!

My Easy Button

Daylight Savings Time is so confusing. I'm glad I finallly mastered changing our car's clock.

My favorite device to change is my alarm clock. There is one easy button for DST. I don't even have to remember if I'm springing forward or falling back. Works for me!

Harbor Church Snacks 2020

Our Life Group is good at coordination and working together. We put on another great spread after both services at Harbor Church. Only this time we had more packaged and grab and go items to minimize the spread of germs. We can do that.

Pictured: Cute little guy checking out the snacks getting put out this morning.

Our internet has been down this afternoon and evening. Good thing we have plenty of books and the newspaper to read. I thought I was going to postpone my blog post but the internet is back. Just in time to go to bed.

Double Bonus

That was a double bonus. My daughter-in-law and I were able to spend time together. And the person in line in front of us bought our coffee!

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. 1 Timothy 6:17 ESV

Almost One Year

I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of my surgery. My ankle is healed but I'm still getting my strength and stamina back.

It seems like a long time ago that I was hopping around with crutches and zooming around on the knee scooter.

I haven't forgotten the love and care I received during that season.

A Dog's Life

It's hard when your favorite human leaves. After being together all weekend. So you watch out the window for a while. Then curl up in a chair.

We all have to adjust to the comings and goings.

What's in Your Freezer?

We like to throw acronyms around in our home. Like EBBs. Also known as Emergency Breakfast Burritos. We also have DF EBB. Can you guess? The Dairy-Free variety for my husband. Which means either no cheese or my latest purchase of dairy-free cheese.

Sometimes we also stock homemade bean burritos, with leftover rice, beans, and meat.

Pictured: It's hard to see in the photo, but third one is just EBB. Perfect for my lunch.

Coming up Roses

Ever watch those home renovation shows? I admire people who have a vision for what could be. And then make it happen.

I am committed to making progress on our home decluttering and organization projects. Now that I am on the mend from my health challenges, I can work on that.

One Leaf Wonder

Some of my favorite houseplants started with just one leaf. My lipstick plant came from my niece in Portland. And now it is flowering!
