Back on Schedule

We missed seeing our people last week. We had to cancel Life Group because of the snow and driving conditions. So tonight was extra sweet to catch up. Good to visit, open our Bibles, and pray together.

No More Winter Coat

We hardly recognize our puppy. She is all cleaned up. Good thing the snow is gone because her long winter coat is gone.

Enchilada Chicken Soup Love

I love throwing things together. Making something new. With some leftover rice and beans. Last of a box of chicken stock. Add water to make it go further. A generous portion of my homemade salsa. Two pieces of frozen chicken. A couple tablespoons of green enchilada sauce. And you have the best chicken enchilada soup for dinner!

More to Learn

Looks like I have more homework. It's my second time through Growing Kingdom Character by Tom Yeakley. I am excited about my new women's discipleship group from church!

Fun While it Lasted

Our dog had fun in the backyard. She couldn't get enough of the snow. We had to bribe her with snacks to get her inside.

Hunker Down

Round two, here we go! The roads cleared just in time for more snow. Good time to hunker down.

Goodbye Furry Friend

Our guinea pig was doing well up until a couple weeks ago. But she went downhill fast. She was almost seven years old, after all!

Today we said goodbye to our furry little friend. We will miss watching her enjoy cucumber peels and spinach.

And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds." And it was so. Genesis 1:24 ESV

Winter Daphne Snow

Hang in there, little flowers! It's just a little snow in February. And a late start for school.

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Matthew 6:28-30 ESV

Winter Coat Love

Good thing we delayed our grooming appointment. Our dog loved being out in the today's snow fall. With her big, warm fur coat.

Beef Enchilada Dinner Love

The family that cooks together...eats together! Our daughter made beef enchiladas, and I made Mexican rice. My husband graciously cleaned the kitchen. Before, during, and after our cooking. Works for us!

February Snow

We woke up to a dusting of snow. Thankfully not enough to stop us from going to church. We heard reports of varying amounts in the nearby areas.

Weather Watchers

We all watched the weather today. It was blustery! Thankfully we never lost power.

Whatever the LORD pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses. Psalm 135:6-7 ESV

Lava Love

We have learned a few things in 32 years of marriage. Like how to share food. We enjoyed our lava cake for Valentine's Day. Hint: cut in two first. Works better than digging in with two forks. One of us will leave the other in the dust. Sorry, Honey.

Keepin' It Simple

I enjoy the simple things. Like hot water and lemon with my dinner. And I try to make up the difference in the tip for the waitress.  Works for us!

Valentine's Day 2018

Our kids encouraged us to go out for dinner. Nice choice for Valentine's Day 2018.

I am thankful for my Valentine of 32 years and counting!

Goodbye Grandpa

Our neighbors and good friends faced a big loss this weekend. Their beloved dad and grandpa ended his battle with cancer. He will be missed!

Stir Fry Noodles for the Win

I try to always keep some things in stock. But today I am all out of rice. White and brown. So I adjusted dinner plans. Stir fry noodles it is. Worked well with leftover beef and veggies from the fridge. With a little sweet chili sauce. Dinner is served!

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

Harbor Snack Team Effort

We pulled off another great spread for church. From fruit to sweets. And popcorn. Something for everyone, hopefully. I love how Harbor Church has snacks after both services.

Pictured: Everyone in our Life Group contributed, but not everyone is in the photo.

Another Red Truck

I was sure I had the right set of keys for the truck. But I couldn't open the door. It would help to be at the right red truck! But all's well that ends well.

Sneak Peek

I am excited to see what the flowers are going to be like. We are getting a sneak peak of the magenta color.

Little Furry Friend

Our daughter's guinea pig is still going strong. Over seven years old! Love her squeaks and chirps.

Valuable Driving Lesson

I don't know how our family friend did it. He patiently taught me how to drive when I lived with them during my college days. Not just an automatic car. But a manual transmission!

This week I am driving my husband's truck around while we get some work done on our car. Thank you, Pete! I can drive a stick shift vehicle. Hopefully I can teach our youngest before she leaves home.

Keep Eyes Closed

It's nice to know you have back-up. I felt the prayers of my Life Group people when I had my semi-regular MRI. I was able to go in without a sedative. (Hint: keep your eyes closed and you won't know what a tight space you are in!)

The results were good. No changes and my health continues to be stable.

And I know others would have prayed if I had shared the need.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42 ESV

Remembering the Plum Sofa

I thought I recognized the couple at Harbor Church. Over seven years ago we gave them a plum sofa. They have since moved to California and back. Had three children. No more plum sofa, but they still have fond memories of that comfy sofa.

Sweet Moments

You never know how many sweet moments you will have. I'm glad I took this photo of my parents before my mom had surgery three years ago.

Former Systems

Every now and then I see remnants. Reminding me of former organizational systems. Like these jars for salt and soda from twenty years ago! I might have that heart stamp somewhere.

Ready for Her Book

I started and scrapped my bead project. But my daughter encouraged me to keep going. I am happy with how the bookmark turned out. Happy birthday to my friend Sharon!
