Two Men Rocks

I don't do any of the heavy lifting. I just find the ads for free landscaping materials and send my men. My husband and son loaded up as many rocks as they could handle tonight. Can't wait to see what they do in our front and back yard!

Pictured:  This photo does not do justice to the size and weight of these mini-boulders!

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2 ESV

Double Potlucks

It's hard to schedule events in the summer. Might as well double up. We had a Life Group potluck at lunch. Followed by a church potluck and meeting tonight. Works for us!

Happy Place

I finally found a happy place. For my plant. The plant (don't know the variety) loves the windowsill in the office. It didn't like the kitchen window, the living room window, or the counter. Makes me happy!

The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:12 ESV

Chicken Love

I may be late to the party, but I tried Chick-fil-A for the first time today. I accidentally ordered a kid's meal. But it was enough to know I need to go back for more!

Special Bond

A friend of mine is having another baby. Eight years after her second child. Reminds me of when we had one more. Nine years after number three. There is a special bond between the older ones and the youngest. Then and now.

Cross the Line

Our puppy is getting better about obeying. Some of the time. Like staying out of the kitchen. She knows she isn't allowed to cross the line.

Reminds me of a toddler seeing how far he or she can go. Or myself, testing the limits.

With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! Psalm 119:10 ESV

Compact Little Bible

I found a compact little Bible at a rummage sale. Perfect for taking to church. Or I could give it away. Even better, return it to the rightful owner, who accidentally left his Bible on the books for sale. Glad it all worked out.

I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. Psalm 119:16 ESV

King Solomon's Reef Love

I heard good things about a diner in Olympia, so we checked it out. Breakfast anytime? Yes, please. King Solomon's Reef had great food and friendly service. My husband and I shared a veggie omelet and one of my mother-in-law's waffles. Next time I might try the breakfast burrito.

I do recommend going on the weekend when you don't have to fight for a parking spot.

LA Girl

Looks like our daughter is having fun and making memories in Southern California. Love the photos and updates!

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. Psalm 8:3-5

Rich in Love and Good Memories

I wonder if they celebrate birthdays in heaven. Today would have been my father-in-law's 78th birthday. One year ago he was having a birthday in the hospital, and trying to get well enough to come home.

So today we remember a life well-lived. Rich in love and good memories. Shared a meal with my mother-in-law. And enjoyed some chocolate cupcakes.

Organic Cabbage Love

I found a way to improve my favorite tangy cabbage salad recipe from Mark Bittman. I used organic cabbage, which really bumped up the flavor and texture. I liked the rough chop, instead of shredding, too. Organic works for me!

Solo Flight

And away she flies. Our youngest is off on an adventure to see her California cousins. She will have a great time!

I will miss that smile!

Exercise Before Work

It's good to get some exercise before work. It's even better when you can go out on a water bike.

Breakfast Ladies

I am on jury duty but haven't had to show up yet. My daughter was going to babysit this morning, but the plans changed. We say, if you don't have to report for duty, might as well go to coffee. And breakfast. Works for us!

Bro Love

Sometimes I neglect to mention how much I appreciate my brothers-in-law. Between my sisters' husbands and my husband's brothers and one brother-in-law.

I enjoyed the short visit with my sister's husband recently.

Take a Walk

My husband has a new little friend. He took his mom's little dog for a walk tonight. Good for both of them.

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Genesis 1:26 ESV

Take Time to Admire

It's good to take time to admire. Notice the beautiful flowers and plants. As you walk by.

Sisters by the Beach

I know how much I love my sisters. I'm happy to see the special bond between our two daughters, born nine years apart.

Sisters are the Best

It was another short but sweet visit. Glad my sister and her family could make the trek from California last week!

Bead Legacy

My mother-in-law gave me the original bookmark that got my father-in-law started with beads. Then he taught me how to make bookmarks and gave me his supplies.

I will treasure this bookmark and the reminder of good memories with my father-in-law!

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 ESV

Birthday Picnic Love

Family picnics are my new favorite thing. Whether planned or spontaneous. Equipped or winging it, with make-do plates from beverage lids. Works for us!

Happy Birthday Breakfast to Me

It's my birthday, and I can resume my blog if I want to.

Happy 53rd birthday breakfast to me!
