Chop and Nap

It's hard to prepare dinner when you are tired. Ideally I would have it set to go in the crock pot. But that doesn't always happen. So I am learning to chop before I take a nap.

My husband came up behind me and saw "Turkey Chili"......SOOO, I'd better ask for your recipe!! If you don't mind, that is. '~'

I don't follow a recipe exactly. I cook the ground turkey, add chopped veggies like onion, celery, green pepper, green onion, and colored peppers if I have them. This batch had several small red, yellow, and orange peppers. I added two cans of diced tomatoes and one big can of tomato sauce. I had some green salsa from Grocery Outlet that added nice flavor. I cooked black beans from scratch by doing the quick-soak method and then cooking for a couple hours. For seasoning I sprinkled various amounts of pepper, paprika, chili powder, oregano, and cumin Wish I could be more precise!

This sounds wonderful!! I wonder if leftover turkey would work....I may try, as I am quite sure we won't eat a whole bird tomorrow!!

OH, when I saw there were two entries, I got excited because I knew you would be telling me about the chili!!!
