A friend told me he has no conflict in his life. He gets along with others and his family gets along, although they all live apart and never see each other. I think that is rare. Our house features conflicts over Hallmark versus sports channels. Who left the milk out all night? Is someone camping in the bathroom with the newspaper? Is it too much to ask for a little peace and quiet when I'm on the phone? I'm glad we have struggles because it shows us we need a Savior. It is also great life training for the future. I want my children to be prepared to deal with conflict in a way that honors God and honors others. I'm looking forward to the Peacemaker seminar coming to Olympia on March 2 and 3 with former lawyer/Peacemaker Ken Sande.
What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. James 4:1-3 ESV
